KELLER ARE STATE CHAMPS!

AUSTIN, Texas (6/7/2026) — Keller captured the 2026 UIL Class 6A Division I state baseball championship with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Lake Travis at Dell Diamond in Round Rock on June 6. In a matchup featuring two of Texas' premier programs, the Indians relied on timely execution and dominant pitching to secure the program's latest state title. Keller entered the championship game with a 43-4-2 record and lived up to its billing as one of the state's top-ranked teams, finishing the season on top of Texas baseball.

The championship contest unfolded as a classic pitchers' duel, with runs at a premium from the opening pitch. Both teams had navigated difficult playoff paths to reach the state final, but Keller found a way to capitalize on its opportunities while keeping the Cavaliers' explosive offense in check. Every inning carried added intensity as neither side was willing to give an inch in a game that would ultimately be decided by a single run.

Lake Travis battled throughout the afternoon and never allowed Keller to pull away. The Cavaliers, who finished the year with a 33-13-1 record, had reached the championship after an impressive postseason run that included a state semifinal victory over Summer Creek. Despite their resilience, Lake Travis was unable to generate enough offense against Keller's pitching staff, leaving the tying run just out of reach as the final outs were recorded.

For Keller, the victory capped a remarkable season filled with consistency, depth, and championship-caliber performances. The Indians finished among the top teams in Texas and nationally, proving their dominance with a state championship victory on the biggest stage. While Lake Travis' memorable playoff run came to an end one game short of a title, both programs showcased the talent and competitiveness that make Texas high school baseball one of the nation's best.
