C.E. King Makes Statement with Dominant Win Over Conroe
It’s a new season, and C.E. King didn’t come to play around. The Panthers opened their season with a statement victory 70-10 over Conroe, controlling the game from start to finish.
During all 48 minutes, C.E. King got what it wanted whenever it wanted, finishing with an impressive 641 all-purpose yards. Once receivers Joshua Hays and Dillon Mitchell got going, the game got out of hand quickly. Quarterback Khylan Davis threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns despite playing just two and a half quarters.
Ground Game Dominance
As great as the passing game was, C.E. King’s rushing attack may have been even better. The Panthers totaled 327 rushing yards and seven touchdowns while averaging nearly 14 yards per carry. With weapons such as Tristion Willis, Antwon Sanders, A'rhiyan Montgomery, and Tyrin Gatson on the ground, it's easy to see why the running game was so difficult to stop.
Defensive Lockdown
It wasn't just an offensive showcase, either. C.E. King's defense held Conroe to just 10 points while forcing multiple fumbles, recording multiple sacks, and finishing with nine tackles for loss.
Looking Ahead
Next week, C.E. King faces a tougher matchup against Cypress Ranch, who is coming off a 24-7 win over Hightower and looking to build on last season's success. Meanwhile, Conroe will look to bounce back against 1-0 Morton Ranch.
